Surfing Safari
Quepos is perfectly positioned for experiencing a number of internationally celebrated surf breaks. Jaco, Hermosa, Esterillos and Dominical are all accessible. The little-known and spectacular Playa del Rey is nearby, and the local Playitas and Bajo breaks are just outside Manuel Antonio National Park. The water is a warm 78-82 degrees year-round. The biggest surf occurs June through August, however the surf is generally consistent at other times. There are a couple of excellent breaks on the Carribean side of Costa Rica, with Salsa Brava at Puerto Viejo being the most famous.
